|
|
I'm looking to come down to Vegas this summer, but I'm shocked at how much a flight from NY to LAS costs! I'm kinda hoping that some of you locals would have the inside scoop on the best way to get there.
Or, I could always pull the ever-popular, cross-country roadtrip (which, probably would be a lot of fun).
Anyone between here and vegas want a ride? _________________

ugh. ive done the driving thing (well, from dallas at least). i dont enjoy it. buying a ticket would probably cost less than gas anyway from new york. although at least you would have a car there. i usually fly america west cause they are cheap-o from here. |

Twisted, where were your flights originating from? Your best bet is to drive to NYC and fly from there to Las Vegas. Right now, fares are around $195 + tax, they will probably go down for specials over the summer. _________________ Support wildlife. Throw a party! |

If you drive by yourself then it is a long boring drive. Bringing a few with you will be much less expensive, split the cost of gas, and a great experience for you guys as a group. If I was in NY then I would jump on that ship in a sec. I know there are a bunch in Penn that were discussing this a while back.
Otherwise I would go with America West like jfet mentioned. They seem to be the cheapest airfare to LV. Southwest Air has the most activity here but they seem to be just a little more then AW. Also I would check prices from a bigger airport like WH suggested. Airfare is always cheaper from a much larger airport. _________________

I looked at leaving from NYC, but thats about a six hour drive from here. I'll probably have to depart from Buffalo or Toronto...both are about an hour away.
I do have a bunch of poker buddies who have been talking about a trip to las vegas forever, so maybe they'd be willing to ride down with me. That'd be a blast. I was hopeing that American Airlines would have some dirt cheap flights, but I guess not. I'll check out the airlines you guys recommended, thanks!

Shovel - yeah, I'll definately let you know. I still have to work out when I can take vacation time and all, but I really want to make the trip.
