I have been playing it for quite some time now. I recently formated my hard drive and reinstalled the game and I am still enjoying it. I am currently playing on the hardened level and I am about half way thru it. I will try the hardest one once I get thru that one.
I was just curious to how many people are playing this game.
When I play it online I am usually playing "Team Deathmatch". I may venture into some of the capture the flag ones once I get a little better. _________________

I have it, but I don't play it that often anymore .
I personally didn't find it too short, although a lot of people thought it was. The game is heavily scripted (enemy placement/situation, movement and habits are orchestrated: similar to MoH:AA).
And according to consensus and my own experiences, CoD runs more smoothly than MoH:AA - which is a couple years older than CoD. It's my conclusion that the A.I. was undermined in order to allocate CPU to run the graphical component of the game. More or less, the AI sucks horribly in my opinion. Every single enemy behaves the same way, they just miss less often as you progress through the game. But regardless, the combat = A+. It's not Halo, but it's not supposed to be.
I just don't think it was as epic as MoH:AA was (IMHO), it almost has a hint of Timesplitters 2 (for lack of a better term) mediocracy. There are just some parts of the game that seem hollow and unispired. The American missions are the best by far, the British ones are okay and I really didn't have very much fun with the Soviet missions. I believe that the first half of the game received the majority of development time. They probably wrote the first half, perfected the game engine by applying it to the finished script that they had and just haphazardly wrote the rest. See Halo for another example of this.
Anyway, it's a worthy purchase. Just don't expect God on a disk. IMO, the multiplayer is crap though. It's extremely 'deathmatchy' and has no real concept to it at all other than run around frantically and hold mouse 1 button. There are no abstract 'fronts' like in DoD; to make matters worse you'll often spawn right in the middle of a gunfight and get hose in an instant. It's just frantic, that's all I can say about it. And it's loud as freaking hell, if you're using headphones you better keep them quiet because 25 extremely loud guns going off at once will destroy your hearing abilities... and um... echlia... chain of bones or whatever. I'm no biologist. |

I played it through on the hardest level. Driving the tank and shooting down the planes on the anti aircraft gun is pretty cool. The levels are not to long but you get to see on how the war was fought on the American, British and Russian side in my opinion. As far as multiplayer goes just dm. I played on a tdm server and your own players were killing you. No sooner did you spawn and you were killed. |

I figured there would of been more people here that liked the game. Ah well, I know I am having a good time with it. It's relaxing to play when I am having a hard time sleeping and I don't feel like interacting with people online. _________________

I got the game (illegally) when I went to a LAN party on campus. I deleted it right after though because I hated the multiplayer. It was just running around random places with no realy objective in mind except kill. I never really get into singleplayer games anymore. I could just read a book for a good story and not strain my eyes. |

I enjoyed the sp mode for the same reasons you did BRN, just a little change from online play with people. Liked the interaction with vehicles n such...the weapons were cool, although zoomed(no scope) mode took some getting used to, expecially under hvy fire. I did think it was a little short(or fast to beat), but that was on the normal difficulty. I have since started a new game on the hardest level, and its proven to be more of a challenge.
Only played online once in TDM and really did not enjoy it(see previous posted comments), however on a decent server "Search and Destroy" (1 team caps objectives, other defends them) and/or "Retrieval" (similar except you must return to base with objective[like brits on dod_jagd]) sound like they could be fun.
id say its worth getting when it has its first price cut. _________________

The game is awesome but it was over too fast. Multi-player is good because it has many differnt options but the player on most servers could care less about the team objectives. I would like to see a Ville server running it too. _________________ ""Throw her down!" Jehu said. That is the reason for this thread. From what I see though there is not near enough interest in the game to warrant that. _________________
