Where did "pwn" come from?

Why a "p"? Any have the reason for this or was someone just bored and started a trend?

probably just because p is close to o on the keyboard. and its something different.

typos are the root of all evil...er missspellings...my typig is horrible, i jstu type too fast for my fingers to catch up sometimes...and whenever im neaer a keyboard my fingers are magnitated toward the w,s,a,and d...curious, have no idea why.....

It also makes it hard to type when you've got a HWguy barreling down on you...
