Everybody in the world is making fun of each other's neighbours. As a matter of fact, quebeckers makes as much jokes on the english part of Canada as the reverse. The thing is, making these jokes on TV is another matter. I think in this case it was the way he said it that was offensive.
Btw, "racist" doesn't apply only to a different color, it's about difference.

| did you guys think the cn tower and the space needle mud wresteling was funny? I couldn't stop laughing, conan should not be banned from canada because of what a talking dog said, but this isn't the first time triumph has gotten them in trouble, when they auditioned american idols in hawaii triumph got kicked out..... conspiracy against conan? I hope not! |

Ya that was kinda funny, and the CN Tower won too, so hey he can't be that "racist"

Incorrect. The root of the word is Race. Racist is defined as:
1) One who believe's that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2) Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
There was no attack on any race so therefore it wasnt racism. His comments would be better descibed as bigoted.

I think that is watering down of the lanugage, there are other names for that.

What I meant was, that in Quebec people are not saying they are a different race, but if you make jokes about the french canadian it is still considered a racist joke.
