Ok I bought a 9600XT today but can't get it to worky won't let my system boot up. I have a 7200 right now and everything works fine but when I put the 9600 I can't even boot in safe mode any suggestions. _________________ <eVa>Simpleman-V$=<RIP> |

Hmm... Here are some questions that came into my head upon reading your problem:
Prehaps the 9600 doesnt work on your system? Are you sure you've installed it right? Prehaps you need to reinstall the drivers some way? Did you touch/change any hardware specs accidentally? Did you plug something in wrong? Are you sure you installed the card right?
Prehaps one of these questions can be answered with a 'no'. |

ya, I'd uninstall your old drivers, then just have a standard VGA driver. Then try the card.
Can you even see the bios screen or anything prior to bootup, or is it black screen all the time? |

Well this may sound simple (no pun intended) I purchased a vid card one time and I could not get it to work. Did just about everything I could think of, reinstalled at least 3 times updated eveything I could called support did everything they suggested and nothing. Ended up taking the card to the local comp store had it tested and it was a bad card , exchanged and bam first time I installed it worked _________________

Well it looks like MSI is Nividia based I'm wondering if I should go and get a vividia card instead I don't know I just want a better card than I have which is not hard it's a ATI 7200 32meg PCI Card _________________ <eVa>Simpleman-V$=<RIP> |

Go into your bios and make sure fast writes are turned off. I know sometimes that can cause issues. |

Have you updated your chipset drivers. Your motherboard is not based off the nvidia chipset according to the website you provided, its based off the sis chipset.
Edit: I am assuming you have onboard video off? _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

There are a few bios updates you could do. Otherwise im not sure. Sounds like a driver problem getting into windows.
Can you get into safe mode with the card or does it crash then also? |
