I figure there are enough car people here to enjoy this post, so here it is.

Some of you know that I am volunteer firefighter for the Klein VFD station37, and a few of our Members in my station pitched in to buy a 1937 (minor coincidence) Seagrave Pumper. It was in fair running condition, but they decided to restore the entire thing almost two years ago. I've been involved in several steps along to way and we/they are making some huge progress now that they are putting it back together.

I figured that you all would enjoy looking at the progress of their truck and just sit and gaze at its beauty. They have spared no expense to get every thing restored, painted, or chromed.

Here it is

Wow Hamese! That amazing work that your group is doing.

Have you considered making it a sleeper hotrod that looks like a vintage firetruck? Drop in a huge engine, do the cab over with LCD displays and stuff, make it a rolling MAME system with your special touches

LOL I think everything should have a MAME system intergrated into it. I saw the other day new refridgirators with LCD's that read chips that are now being placed on various items. It will give you a read out of all that is in the fridge w/o opening the door. IT does several other things, but it could also play MAME .

These guys are going for 100% original... even though it will be more like 98%. They have found suppliers to get vintage sparkplugs and sp wires from. Original radiator hoses, gauges, etc are being put back on.

Pretty soon I will be restoring my 79' corvette, so I will post pictures of it. And who knows, it may have the mobile MAME in it

Wow. I havent looked in on there progress for quite a while, they have made good progress.

Doesnt it seem strange to hear someone say there going to restore a 79 Vet? Am I really old enough that people are restoring cars that are 5 years younger than me.

Cars are deemed "classic" after 25 years. The car is as old as I am, and could use a good overhaul to be in great shape. Seats start to tear, steering wheel is cracking, seals are bad, rust forms, etc. My first step is pulling the engine and trying to rebuild it myself.

Then I'm converting it to a manual tranny, instead of the automatic it is now.

Good Work

Keeping the old cars around so that won't be lost to history.

I have my first car still its a 1965 Olds Jetstar 1. less then 3000 ever made.
From what I can find only one other is registered in USA.

I still need the paint and interior completed, but it looks like I will have to wait a little longer before I get started on finishing.
