Here's my story in a nutshell: I upgraded my OS from WIN98 to 2000. I reinstalled Half-life, and redownloaded/instaled the 1.1.0.8 patch. The single player works fine, but when I play TFC: I can't bring my console down, the text looks different, and there are several other problems as well. Anyone know whats going on or can someone give me some suggestions...thanx!

Here is what you want your target to look like in your shortcut to TFC.

C:SIERRAHalf-Lifehl.exe -console -game tfc -numericping -noipx

That should get your console back. As far as the text looking different. That may be your video settings. I'd check them to make sure they're the same as you had before.

numericping, what does that do?

Who has the longest string of commands for this? We might as well get them all mentioned if there is more.

Numeric ping gives a number next to all the green/red dots to show what the response time is. Most of the Ville servers give me pings in the 40s and 50s.

IPX support is only for certain videocards. If your card is not one of the ones listed in the Video options, I recommend disabling this. It only makes your connection time longer.

Hey Snag, IPX is a network protocol such as TCP/IP. It is a language that is used to communicate client PC's to Servers. Most people do not use this protocol, since you only can only use IP over the internet.

Therefore the tag -noipx disables your computer from even trying to use it, so it will cut down on your connecting time.

Oh yeah, I was thinking of something else I used to have in my command line. I haven't done anything with it in a while. Thanks for the heads up.
