It seems that ever since I got a new computer a few months ago, all the images in Internet Explorer look really bad. I tried the Yahoo browser thing that came with my internet service and the pictures look how they should. Is there any way to fix this?

I'm running IE 6 on Windows XP Pro.

I'd rather not switch browsers.

I'm not sure about the compressed graphics, but have you looked at all the advanced options under tools-->internet options-->advanced?

There are some image related options there. Also, have you run windows update and applied all the fixes?

Also, what about color depth under your display properties?

I've tried all those settings and they don't help.

Here are my display settings:
1920 x 1200
32 bit color

Do you have it set to auto resize the image? If so, images that are bigger than the browser will be resized to fit, and IE does not do that too well

I dont think 1920 X 1200 is a proper windows resolution and so it will distort things. Try 1600 X 1200 and the proportions will be better. 1920 X 1200 will just distort images.

is it blury or fuzzy?

what kind of monitor and video card are you using?

Well the pictures look fuzzy.

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 Go
The screen is a widescreen 15.4" TFT display (UXGA or something)

I don't think it has anything to do with my video because the pictures look fine anywhere else but IE.
