I've sometimes had a hard time killing them. Thats the best part really. If you can beat a fully armoured and full health HW bot then you can beat almost anything if you set your mind to it.


except that the bot likes to shoot the ground more than the opponent.

The way the bots are designed, they will always hit you - you just have to be quicker to hit them. The SturmBots that we use on the DoD servers have an adjustable delay in the time they see you to the time they shoot you, 0.8 seconds by default. If you need us to dumb them down a little so you can handle them, let me know. I'll even give them "special" names so you can tell who they are.

ya same here.. i'll agree that bots r good, but theville city 17 constaly has 14bots on it! cant u lower the bot # down to like 8 or something? I kno on my server i keep 6 which seems to be a good #. Also ive noticed Alot more peeps connecting to my server Since ive swicted to complete customs.. So prehaps a map change is needed...

The best part is when you some guy/gal tring to recruit them into there clan because they got owned so many times by them.

City 17 has actually been getting more ppl since I upped the bot count to 14. Then turning tech on actually helped also.

These sort of stats dont help either.

I wonder why its hard to get ppl on a TFC server when right now there is only 1 person per server available. Ya, your right, TFC isnt dead. The nsp player minutes arent very accurate since they just released 3.0.

Quicker to hit them? You're telling me that you and everyone else can always shoot dead on, no matter the distance, in less than a second, even considering the reaction time it takes for your brain to interpret a surprise situation? Man, I must be Mr. slow reactions man then.

I know that that's the way bots are designed, and that's exactly why I don't like them. I've never played dod with bots, so I cannot comment on that part, but tfc with bots is extremely gay. If they're actually programmed to be good, then the HW's and snipers always destroy you. If they're programmed to run around the place like kids with down syndrome, then they're too easy and take all the excitement out of playing.

Your sarcastic remark about dumbing them down doesn't exactly help a lot. My complaint isn't that all the bots are too hard to kill (though I could live without a sniper bot. Getting killed in one shot not even a second after you turn a corner isn't exactly my favorite way of spending my leisure time). My complaint resides with the fact that not only are you playing with a bunch of hackers -- a contradiction to the ville's rules -- but also that the lack of humans playing ruins the game completely. If I want to play with a bunch of computers, then I can play a single person game designed with a good AI system, and recieve much more enjoyment from it. The purpose of multiplayer games is not to see how many times I can kill this annoying computer before I get sick of the ritualistic type of battle that occurs every time we meet in the middle of the map.

Like they said before, they aren't there to replace people, but are there just to get the server filled with real players. They could lower the number on City 17 but whatever works best...

Some of the very popular servers out there actually run 16-18 bots, its just they fill up and you dont see them. Tech seemed to bring a new life back to TV6 though, been getting more traffic the day I turned that back on. I'll drop it 2 spots on the bots for a little bit.

Something that would help get TFC back here I believe is trying to set a time in which most all of us try and get on the server. For me it would be like 6:30 Pacific time. I think if we made an effort to join in we could start to get some regs popping in. Dunno, just a thought.
