Here is my favorite way to cap 3 and take out some sgs.
Be soldier grab flag rocket jump from balcony, 1st sg under tent blows you over cap and down on ledge 2nd sg on ledge blows you into cap, score! You get health, rocket and gernade the sg on shelf then turn and get the one under the tent. Job satisfaction!
After that you don't even care if they kill you.

I agree with Bada in saying taking out SG's, in other words clearing the path for teammates and flag runners, is the whole point of TFC.

I might differ with Kjeldorian Royal Guard in that I think that going for the top SG killer award (or other awards) is not exclusive of having a good TPF approach since your team obviously benefits from it.
Like, the Sentry Gun Killa clears the way while Dr. Kevorkian infects the D and sends them into disarray, and the Cap King finishes it off with the flag. Of course you'd be hard-pressed to argue Forrest Gump and the Crowbar Swinging Idiot had team-play in mind, but, I still think most awards put you in position to help your team out immensely.

Maybe the SG killing focus right now has to do with the award being listed at the top of the page? Maybe it would be cool to switch the top one each week, then maybe we'd have people showing all sides of their game, going for various awards.

One last thing, I thought the best part about |USR| Svvord getting 195 SG kills was that, in the same day, he also got 250 knifings as OJ Simpson, not to mention 17 kills as the most Annoying Spy. What's the record on that one I wonder (Bada?)?

I have been in the 440 something range which I seen a couple others pull off too.I couldn't believe when I looked at the daily awards that day it was insane :smile:There has been days when I played longer too and came nowhere close to duplicating that.I have racked up 50 gas grenade kills once which I haven't seen anyone beat yet even when Murderball was in the rotation.That happened when Murderball was already gone.I racked most of them up on warpath :smile:People tend to watch their back now more when I play

Wonder what Svvord would do if Rob declared "okay, the big award this week will be for the player with the most deaths"? He would probably find some l33t way to die faster than the rest of us.

I definately do not want to be a "statwhore". It just sounded like people were going to start riding my back about pushing others to kill sg's. Ktulu, your post was a good one. I didn't take it badly at all. I just said it made me realize a couple things. It's all good!

Congrats to you sword. You a an amazing spy and a you deserve the sg killa salute! He did it just like I did, without the help of Neo-TF. At least I never saw him airstriking sg's. WoW!

Very well done sword.

My main point was, I love how everyone is playing the game now! I do not want to do anything to spoil that. So if one of my friends tells me, people are more concerned with killing sg's than capping, I worry about hurting the game for others. But if your all good with it then frag on! I'm still done though. If I even look at another enemy sg, I think I am going to hurl!
