I'm liking the combat mode a little, lost an hour in one round of it when I had just wanted to take a quick look at it.

ns 3.0 is still a beta, they just figured it be best to ahve the public comment on it so its played by more hands then just vets & cons.

Yes, it's great.

I didn't however like the way the Lerk now flies like he's got a bunch of bricks on it's back, wish they hadn't changed it. But the bite is fast and strong and back...spikes are gone

I played combat for a couple hours, It's really good, fast paced and rewarding kills and agressiveness. I expect it to make people's fighting ability that much higher in NS games.

I found a new favorite alien upgrade.....Focus.

It triples your 1st weapon attack but slows it. All you need is one bite though and it will kill any marine lower than level 3 armor or HA. Get it with celerity and you'll be able to rush up to them and give em the deathblow and move on to the next.

The lerk took a bit to get used to. Just look where you want fly and you are there. Makes it great for real real fast attacks. And the bite is narly.
