Or whatever its called. Its the little screen that comes up in the top left corner. It says things like "you have spotted a enemy soldier" bal bal bal. I got rid of it before but I cant remember how.

I'm pretty sure you can do it from the in game options menu.

1. hit escape key then quit game...works everytime...
2. How do i remove 'friendly icons' from above players heads?
Download the following file to your "sprites" directory:
http://files.dodnetwork.com/index.php?page=pafiledb.php&action=file&id=34
To restore them again:
http://files.dodnetwork.com/index.php?page=pafiledb.php&action=file&id=35
3. How do I turn off hints?
Go to Multiplayer >> Customize >> Advanced. Alternatively you can bring down your console window and type:
_ah 0
4. How can i turn the identities help off?
cl_identicon 0
5. How do I "mark" on maps?
Hold down your "Crouch/Duck" key and a new menu should appear, you should be able to work out what to do from here; Hints are at the bottom of the screen
6.How do i get rid of the names above players heads? (kill them  )
Enter the following in your console:
cl_identicon 0
