I'm getting so frustrated.

I'm kinda spoiled, my fps have always been about 100. These days I get 40-60. I know it started about two steam upadtes back. Nothing in my system has changed. I've heard a few others mention the same problem. has anyone here had this problem....and more importantly, how did you fix it.

I've got my fingers crossed that someone here can help

Hatty

Make sure your monitors refresh rate is set at 100hz and not 60hz. Also, make sure steam didn't set your max_fps setting back to 60. Did you change resolutions? If you did, maybe that certain resolutions refresh rate is set lower than the 100hz.

depends on wich card but it looks all a bit similar.

right click on you desktop>properties>settings>advanced> and then display, monitor or whatever it's called with your graphics card.

and if you make your config read-only steam shouldn't be able to reset your fps_max to 60.

my graphics card is a geforce 4 64 meg. Its not state of the art...but it should and has always run TFC fine.

I checked the fps setting in my cfg and its set to 999. my monitor will only go to 85mhz...but that setting hasnt changed.
