Ok guys I lied when I said it would be my last post on the thread. This one is my last post.

When I read some more of the posts I decided that I should apologize because I have handled this inappropriately. I should have not posted anything about it, because it is quite evident that things that I brought up in my initial post are not being discussed.

In addition, the situation is being blown a bit out of proportion. Also, the events leading up to my post and my description of them is being misconstrued. Jealousy and "pushing Eagle's buttons" were not the reasons why I posted something about this incident or why I said what I did in game. I stated why I did what I did, but the fact that other people have gotten involved and confused things, which normally happens when large groups get involved in an issue, pretty clearly shows that I did not handle this correctly.

I should have stayed quiet and let my initial surprise, about who I was playing against, pass. I should have just asked Eagle, personally, another time about what happened. If I would have done this then I would have found out from Eagle that he was having computer trouble on TV1 and that he was playing that way for a reason, and not for the reason that I inferred. All of this bickering would have been saved and there would be no problem. I think that covers it all. I am sorry for causing this trouble and I will make sure to handle any situations similar to this differently in the future.

Finally, this apology does not mean that I will not call someone a llama who is acting like an ass or only playing for stats. It means I am apologizing for my poor handling of the situation. When calling someone a llama its not like I am calling them every 4 letter word in the book, talking about their mother, or calling them any other highly offensive names. I am calling the person an animal that sounds like lamer. If I see llama-like activity and then I will deem it that I hope that explains everything...and I'm sorry.
Robbie

*Shakes Bigs' hand* Takes a man to do that d00d.I done the same,no biggie.I understand now that Eagle has technical problems from time to time an this is why he hangs back.No problem, see it all time.

On the same note PlanetHalfLife has a console command to force the Cl_fintyflush instead of waiting on it to come. This could help stop lag by forcing a flush at the beginning of each match when everyone is in respawn.Just a bit of advice for the technical problem that has stirred this around more than it had to be.

Eagle man please dont take anything ive said in the past personally.

The Cl_flush error can be easily fixed. In your console, type rate, then when you see what it is, change it to 3000 or less if you are on a dialup connection. When I was on AOL last month, I set my rate anywhere from 1500 to 2900. If you still get the error, lower your rate, or disconnect and reconnect. Hope that helps.

Well done Caulk. Now that's how you step up and handle a situation. Kudos to you.

I know my opinion goes as far around here as a one legged man at an ass kicking contest but here it goes.I don't know what happend since I was not there.

Eagle that Error is WARNING: CL_FlushEntityPacket and is contributed to an error in the 1.1.0.1 HL patch dealing with the commands fps_max that is set to 0.0 by default and fps_modem something like 70.Try setting these to fps_modem 30 and fps_max 30 should help. Just experiment with the fps_modem settings by increasing the amount as high as you can without getting the error.I did this and have not got that error again..You are just flooding yourself if this is left unchanged.

In Eagles case,a connection problem (Which being on a sorry 56k myself) I can totally understand where an attitude can come from. How many of you kicked ass to get a flag or the last Cmd Point in warpath only to be inches away from Capping it when everything stops? You have a flashing red caption above saying, "Connection Problem" WTF not now! You finally are able to move, only its not the Cap point, but your own respawn. What makes one pissed on top of all this, is Having some Smartass taunting you with how great he/she is fragging you.

I am not saying foul language was neccesary here either Just that there are better ways to work something out other than getting into a pissing contest in a game. It distracts me
as well as everybody else.

I for one am leaning more in favor towards the removal of "All Stats" if it would just stop all these confortations and finger pointing. Its either over somebody being accused of being a stathead and having a whole different problem such as Eagles, or a True Stat head that is more concerned about his own personal performance than his team. I feel as bad as this is, it's their choice of playing style, What right do we have to tell one how they should play?? I think just having POTW is where they draw the line. If they are true statheads, well? they will leave too or learn to play as a team.

Was it not some guy from the Civil war named Robert E. Lee who said "Can't we just get Along"

Big I know what you are going through it happened to me when I posted my apology to Patton. A simple apology turned out to be a huge discussion on players ethics etc. As for the actual event that took place about staying inside your base! Apparantly it is not against the rules to be a wuss and therefore you shouldn't taunt.(not that Eagle is a wuss I am just saying in general.) Also if Eagle was having problems the added stress of not beeing able to play is a good enough excuse to cuss for me. (me sympathizing, not condoning cussing.) Eagle is a good player he had a dispute with Snay, and they settled it. I watched the match and it was very close. I can assure every one here that Eagle has no need to run from annyone!

Stuff happends and its hard to control yourself when you cant control the situation. Believe me I know. Anyway people talk smack all the time, doesnt mean you have to read it or even respond to it. It's competitive nature. Everyone knows it. The point is try to hold your own, and don't come crying back to the forums to get others on you side...

Pantera:

Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence...
One step from lashing out at you...
You want in to get under my skin
And call yourself a friend
I've got more friends like you
What do I do?

Is there no standard anymore?
What it takes, who I am, where I've been

Belong
You can't be something you're not
Be yourself, by yourself
Stay away from me
a lesson learned in life
Known from the dawn of time

Respect, walk

Run your mouth when I'm not around
It's easy to achieve
You cry to weak friends that sympathize
Can you hear the violins playing you song?
Those same friends tell me your every word

Are you talking to me?
No way punk

Walk on home boy...

Can someone please lock this topic? I posted my apology about handling this situation. I'm a bit tired of it taking on a life of its own. I would like to say more, but I will practice control.
