I just go with the driver given by the manufacturer, whether it's signed or not

brand and exact version of your soundcard would help a lot.

YA what he said...card type and manufacture is good.

If thats not available...there are other options...including buying a new sound card...they are cheap.

I can walk u thru the install on IM if you want...let me know

Yep looking at A new card maybe this afternoon.
Right now it is a on board sound and the SIS corp has not released a digitaly signed signature for it yet and because it is on board it won't let me ignore it . Anyways should be working this afternoon it's hard to play when you can't hear anything

You can just choose "continue anyway" when that message pops up.

i see it often when installing drivers, it is not an indication that the driver is wrong or bad. only that m$ hasent blessed it.

It don't ask to countinue it just shuts down

I got it to take the driver twice both times after restart it would restart again on it's own and uninstall the driver

if you look for a new soundcard, look for one that supports directX 8.1
more and more games need a soundcard that supports it.

ex. BF1942, F1 challenge 99-02, ..........
