Well, due to the usually full TV1 server, I decided to start playin at TV4, and let me tell you...SO much fun. Osaka is gaining quite a bit of ground on Avanti as my favorite map (now if only I could play a whole game of it without my comp freezing). Plus, Epicenter is totally awesome. Its nice to play maps where you aren't totally sure of where a sniper could be hiding.

Just the other day I was on TV4 playing Osaka with JD, Rob, and several other great players, and let me tell ya, it was a blast.

Tommy, Hi, Are you using Win Zip? I've noticed when using this program to extract zip
files to TFC (Maps,Sound)that this program has a bad habit of re-creating a directory that is already there.(This is because most zips out are self-extracting without mentioning it)
say just extracting the file to your HL *.* and it placing the appropriate files in TFC
and their correct places on its own. Just Cut the files out of the duel directory and delete it,then move them to its original and you should be good to go.

Hey, I gotta defend my winzip

When I unzip stuff, I unzip to a different folder, and move all the files by hand according to the readme file that is included in most maps. With Osaka, I believe there are some texture files, and ambient sounds and some other stuff. More than most other custom maps that I have played, so I would suggest just looking through the readme file and make sure that everythings in its right place (Obscure radiohead reference)

I have *shudders* WinME, and it has a built in unzipper when you download files, they are already unzipped. (one of the few reasons I keep ME around)

If when you unzip to a clean folder, if a folder is created in that directory (ex: tfc) then winzip expected to be in a directory where the tfc directory exists (Half Like or CS). If it creates a main directory of map or say map and sound then it expected to be in your tfc directory when it unziped. If files are created in the main directory then read the txt file to see where they are supposed to go.

The Oaska files were zipped in there current directory structure. If you unzip all of the files to your half-lifetfc folder, all of the files will be put into the correct folder. The sounds will go into sound, the models into models and so on. You shouldn't have to place them any where.

Species if the directory's are recreating themselves I would ask this. Are you unzipping the files individually and extracting them into thier proper dir? Because if you select all of the sound files and extract them to tfcsound, winzip (with oaska) will put them in tfcsoundtfcsound.

I hope that didn't confuse you, because it did me. Anyway its something like that.

Well, OSU Snipe Shocker, your new favorite server has just added Badlands to the mapcycle. This replaces Warpath since the latter has been causing some severe CPU lag and increasing the latency of the game aka no fun for players.

Cool. I just wish more people played on 4. It's up 24/7 and during the day it's empty sometimes, that sucks.
