1.) why is it that sometimes on the ville 3 after a map is over instead of loading and going to the next map do I get sent directly to console and disconnected??
2.)sometimes when i try to get connected to the ville 3, I get all the way in just to where its going to have me click ok (just before player select) for a brief second, I can even hear a second of the gameplay, then I immediatly end up back at game spy with TF completly closed, it never says I was kicked or anything like that it just seems to crash. when this happens I can go to another server and get in fine its just 3 that happens to me on.
Any Ideas??? Thanks in advance

For the first one, it may be because your connection to the server timed out. For the second one, i dunno.

I have the same problem with losing connection on map changes on TV 3. I don't know why it's doing that either, but I wanted to let you know you weren't the only one. I was going to ask sometime here, but never got around to it.

I think most of these problems started with the last patch from HL? I experience this on all the servers actually. I simply pulldown the console and type "reconnect". It usually works.

Hey all,
Munks suggestion of "reconnect" works well and works *almost* everytime but if the server is really busy it may fill up before you can "reconnect" so I've found that using "retry" to be much... much... faster for whatever reason.

Retry works the best for me. I was at III last night and after I was done playing I could not even shutdown my PC normally. I had to kill the power and reboot to clean up my system. Me thinks we may have a hacker hitting this site as I also had all my binds changed in game, even my spray was changed. Once I exited the game and checked my binds and spray they were fine. Frag was on aswell and mentioned that he had lost all his binds. SOOOOOOOO??????????? |

I lost all of my binds and favorites after leaving 5 on Saturday night, there was some weird error with the file associated with favorites being corrupted. Dunno?

Thats why I have my configs read only. You can change binds in game, but once you leave the game those changes will be gone. No way to wipe out you config files that way. |

Thanks for the advice Ill try to type reconnect or retry next time, sounds like a much better solution then completly loging out and back in.

This problem isn't on my newer computer, but it was on my old one. What would happen is that I would play a game on TFC, and when the map changes I be back at the server list, with an error message that says, "could not find C:...halflife.wad"
I could never solve this on my old computer, even though I tried everything I could think of. The only way to avoid this was to disconnect really quick, exit Half-Life, enter Half-Life again, and reconnect. I even had a key bound to "quit" so I could exit and reconnect faster.
