I have been around for a short while, though just recently have I actually popped above the radar, started posting on the forums, and shouting out other regs on the servers.
I'm going to say now, I’m very tired, so take my words with more than one grain of salt. Also, these are just my personal views. I, of course, don't ask anyone to share them if they don't feel the same as me. So, with out further adieu...
In my time here, i have seen a fair number of Llamas, or players who do irritating stuff, or just things in general that disrupt my and others enjoyment of the game.
However.
I have noticed different... types of Llamas. There are of course the respawn camper, the cheater, the asshole, the pregame respawn detpacker, the stats-matter-only llama, the mg killer, the friend launcher, and many others.
Now. Take all of these, and put them into three groups. You end up with the llama by choice, the llama by ignorance, and the llama by Accident.
The llama by choice is someone who decides to do all of these, after warnings. They are the simplest type of Llama to deal with. Tell them to stop. If they do? Then there is no problem. If they don’t? Ban them, so these players don’t bring down others enjoyments.
The llama by ignorance are a bit harder to deal with, in my eyes, simply cause they don't know what they are doing. The player named 'hit' that Bada bing wanted banned is one of these, I believe. He doesn't seem to learn, so he's starting to blur the lines of by choice and ignorance, but whatever. Onward. There are some that are just brand new, and have no clue what they are doing. I was one of these for a long time. Maybe not here, but I was one. Now I’ve evolved into the next type of llama, but I’ll get into that in a moment. Personally, I think newbies shouldn't be banned outright for making mistakes. I think they should be confronted with the problem. After all, there are some that -can- learn, and some, myself included, that not only -can- learn, but -want- to learn. Solution to these? Give them a chance, tell them what they are doing is wrong. If they change, then great! You may eventually have a decent player out of this former newbie. If they don't, they become a llama by choice, and, well... Right. We know what to do there.
On to the last. These are possibly the hardest to deal with, simply because it's so hard to tell if someone actually is this or another breed of llama. I am one. KRG is one, so he said in another post. There are many others. I've killed one or two respawning people as a HWguy in avanti, simply because I was hanging out by the well and didn't notice the capping of the point 2, and already killed them by the time I noticed people were appearing then. At that point I run out, hoping that no one gets overly mad at my mistake, and end up calling me a llama and asking for me to be banned. Solution? First, or even second time offenders can usually be over looked. If it starts to become a trend, confronting them about it seems like the best course of action. If they -still- continue these 'accidents' afterwards, then they become a llama by ignorance or by choice, depending.
In conclusion, in my own personal opinion, please give llamas that aren’t just purposefully trying to cause problems to the game a chance. Some have, some have but get labeled a llama, some just outright don't. (Though I haven’t seen many like this, but that tag of llama can drive a person off the Server anyway, since no one wants to play with them.)

That is a astute observation on how to judge what you are seeing or doing on the server.

Well, I wouldn't call what I did an accidental Llamification. It was an accident but by no means was I being a Llama. I killed two people! One of which was the medic who I was chasing. After killing the medic, I was immediately attacked by literally 8 people! I just started flaming! It was just a momentary lapse of judgement. I forgot where I was. If someone accidentally kills my mg I wouldn't refer to them as an accidental Llama.
I do agree with what you said though Jolly. That's why I posted my public apology for what happened. Everyone knows that is not my style and I have never done that before. I have never seen you behave badly or do anything against the rules either. If you are candidly honest and apologetic, you will be forgiven. These people are not @holes, they are always waiting to hear both sides of the story before passing judgement.
We all make mistakes, yes even regulars and admins make mistakes. It's all about how you own up to what you have done and take the consequences.
