For me fragging at The Ville is a pious experience. I turn off all the lights in the room, and light a few candles. I surround myself with the beautiful smell of fresh flowers, and the Eastern smell of spices eminating from sticks of incense I place around the room. When the time is right, I place my Bible down under my screen, and connect to The Ville.
With all the lights off, I can become one with my Flamethrower. I always head straight for the grenades, because the I never go anywhere without a Molotov Cocktail in hand. As I come across all the murderous Villins simply shooting each other for kicks, I throw my holy flames into their midst. Then I rush at them as they scratch at their eyes blindly, and continue the barrage of flames until they suffice to my holy cleansing.
As the obstreporous sounds of the battle surround me, I run back for more cocktails. As I am waiting for the pack to reappear, I open my Bible and say a prayer aloud for all the souls I have saved. Once again, I hear the click as I pick up my holy Cocktails, and I am off.
After continues attempts to cleanse the mad enemy, the screen suddenly goes black and I find myself at the other end of the map. They just don't seem to go away. I look out of my prison, and they just glare at me, waiting for the gates to open so that they can martyr me.
I will eventually die a martyr, but until then, I will continue throwing my cleansing flames onto these devils. Unfortunately, in my quest to save them, I realize that I too have become a Villin. Might it be my fate to forever cleanse what can never be cleansed?

Monk, that was beautiful man. And to think with all the bad spelling on this forum, we have someone with the perspicacity to use the word obstreporous in a sentence. Damn!
I enjoy a more secular experience than the one you describe. And yet, there is something transcendant about sitting down when TV1 and 2 come on, saying to oneself, "I'll just jump on for a few minutes." Only to be surprised hours later when you realize it is after ten o'clock and you forgot to eat.
In Herman Hesse's Siddartha the titular character explains that he knows all he needs to know by saying, "I can think. And I can fast. And I can wait."
It occurs to me that I can think. I can fast. And I can wait. And I can also frag.
Booyah.

I listen to rap (which for some reason makes me want to murder my parents and smoke a big blunt. go figure) once my blood is pumped up I place my fingers on the keyboard, and make sure that I will be ready to insanely tap my taunt keys (COMMIES ALL OF YOU!, who's yo daddy now? SUPER TRIPLE SUPER PIPEBOMB SUPERJUMP and so on) Once I am in the game, I switch to demoman and start SP@MMING EM |

haha Finger I was reading your post and thought it must be the Duke when I read perspicacity used to describe Monks use of
obstreporous except that the o after p should be an e.

Good point Finger. I think it is about time The Ville got some class. Enough with the horrible grammar and spelling in the forums. People are going to think we are a bunch of middle schoolers! I think it is time to start banning all the ignorant bastards who spam our forums with this garbage!

I rumble with the best on The Ville in my dark room screaming "Die you filthy, backstabbing bastards!" over and over again... that is, when the nice men in their white coats let me out of my straight jacket and unlock my padded room...

I dunno why, But I almost always play TFC with my mp3s goin. Only rarely do I play with game sounds. The odd thing about playing my music while fragging is the fact that most of the time that music is either A selection from Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin, or a nice relaxing classical playlist.
Sometimes it seems a bit counterintuitive to be wreaking so much havoc and inflicting so much violence while listening to such soothing music, but hey, I plays what I likes, and I likes what I plays.

While perhaps its true that Mulisha has had occasion to part my hair with his sniper rifle, I have also taken some opportunities to spank him in public like a Vice Principal.
OSU Snipe Shocker, someday you'll have to tell me what I have to do to run MP3s successfully while I play. I can never get that to work. I don't know about Sinatra, though. It might get me singing "I did it my way." into my voice comm mike, and nobody wants that.
