Heya Im just wondering what sockets are (ie Socket A, Socket 754 and Socket 940)? Ive never heard of the term before but I know it deals with AMD systems.
Anyone know what it means? It doesnt say in any book Ive read...

Those determine what type of processor that you can use. Only certain processors will fit into certain sockets. This goes for all computer systems, not just AMD. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

sockets are where the cpu plugs into. It can be any cpu.
DOH to slow.
