in order to play on HomeLAN CS servers, i need to download something from cheating-death. would that cause a problem on TheVille servers? i didn't download it yet because i'm afraid to get banned if TV detects something. the program, as the server said, prevents players from cheating at HomeLAN and prevents servers to crash while changing map. anyway, is it ok to download cheating-death and not get any conflicts with TV?

only play CS when non-cheating TFC servers are not on.

I shouldn't imagine it would - it's just a 3rd party program like punkbuster.

I didn't want to start a new thread about this so I'll ask here. In game sometimes text comes across the screen saying, "Bringing cs back to the players one ban ata time". What is that all about? TheVille does not support Counter Strike?

I think maybe they downloaded the same program and forgot to change the message.

I think it means if they want to cheat, join the cheaters playing CS

It means the program was originally designed for admins of CS servers.
But TFC server admins have also adopted it, without changing the weapon.

Hi KRG, that message pops up after a player has been banned by the software that detects cheats on the server.

Does the anti-cheat program search your whold hard drive, or just the Half-Life directory? I'm asking because it seems like it would take a while to search the whole hard drive... if the windows search feature is any indication.

Windows is generally not an accurate representation of how efficiently something can be done...
However, sometimes I join servers from my other computer (that doesn't have anti-cheat stuff on it) that require punkbuster or something else and it takes me a good 5 minutes of playing to be kicked. Maybe it does take the time to scan your whole hard drive.
