I am surprised that nobody else here has experienced the bs that I did last-night ? Man.. Talk about Situation. Normal. All. F*cked Up! After playing off and on all day yesterday & last-night it happened around 7:30 when my machine locked up due to an IMapp.exe error so I rebooted and went to go restart steam and this is when I got this error:

"Your purchase of Half-Life Platinum failed. Most likely the cd key you entered has already been registered to another user. Please check your email for a more detailed explanation."

Well, I went to check my accounts email and there was nothing there at all from valve, so I went to it's forums and noticed that quite a few others besides myself are having the same-thing happen to them also! If it's due to the new update then why all of a sudden would this happen now instead of right after the new patches installation was installed is what I am asking ?

I hope steampowered does not ever decide to enter the weapons industry for the worlds sake !

i think rule number one for a programer for valve is to have a common sense/intellegence test...failing...means automatic hiring

The only thing I like about Steam is the bigger in-game print and the brighter picture, other than that it's practically useless. And yes, I too miss WON .

This is what happens with newly developed software, bug here, patch it, another bug there, patch it, so on and so on ect! I still feel that valve has forgotten literly who put they're butts where they are today with their lil old mod called Team Fortress, swollen heads and egos lead to sloppy work not to mention the leak of the HL2 source code THAT WAS PURE CARELESSNESS on valves part if you ask me

After the initial BS I have not had any problems with STEAM. I do miss WON but I can live with things the way they are working now. Hopefully it will get better
