ok...some custom maps seem to be missing files like i go to play and it says things like "couldnt open overlord.wad" where do i get these missing .mdl's and .wad's? and y does the map...not come with there stuff required to run it??

...eh...no...i got my maps in steam....it just i run them in game and some are missing the odd file like i know overlord is a pre 1.0 map....anyplace i can dl and get overlord.wad to run a map?...also some are missing various .mdl's anyone know of a website that basically is like a part shop for dod...ps...sounds like a good website to make if none exsists...where i can dl just one mdl? ex. dog_1 says its mising tnt.mdl....can i get that....or am i just stupid...and dl from bad websites

Just download that pack and follow the instructions. If you download in game or from a bad site, then you will be missing the wad, mdl, wav, and other files.

Overlord is now known as Charlie. I know that you know this which has me wondering why in the hell you would need Overlord?!?

Overlord is now known as Charlie. I know that you know this which has me wondering why in the hell you would need Overlord?!? |
one of the stupid custom maps...that was recommended for tv 9...required overlord.wad dunno y got me...but ut said that "unable to open overlord.wad"

It did the same thing for me on one of the custom map nights BRN. I had to go into my 3.1 installation and copy it over.

The person that made the map probably used overloard.wad for some of the textures in the map. That's one thing you have to be careful about when you make a map.
