Outragous lag

Does anyone know why Im getting lots of lag in DoD? I have a ping of something like 60 and Im getting a wackload of lag spikes - like 3 times a minute... So does anyone know why Im getting bad lag spikes?

Its ok blown told me to change the rate to 999 and it works semi well now. Some maps dont work too good - I lag every time I go near a cap point and so forht but others run fairly well.

rate 9999.

also you can play with cl_updaterate. Mine is set at 22 and helped me with choke. Dont go by my settings, play with them and pop up your net_graph 3 via the console. Make changes and see what happens. High rate for broadband works well though. The cl_updaterate will help with choke issues, especially in big fights. Make small changes to it though, one number at a time and see what works best for you.

When you go into game next time go into your console, type netgraph "3". That will show you some information that may be able to help.

My big problem used to be choke. Certain maps would just choke up my system. Once I made a few adjustments I was fine. When I would go to those specific maps I would make changes as needed and no problems.

Do whats posted aboe - and turn off some noises and so forth. Theres another thread in the dod forum thats got a link to a site that tells you how to reduce your lag.

I always do turn off the noises. I have stopsound bound to a key.
