ROFL its all good they pwned Pedro the punk NExt year a couple big strike out batters will be gone I'm sure Soriano for sure. Its generally not a good thing to have your lead off hitter lead the team in strike outs.Add a couple pitchers and who knows.

The Yankee Dynasty of 1996-2003 is finished.

Gone

Roger Clemens
Andy Pettitte
David Wells
Alfonso Soriano
Aaron Boone
The RF platoon

That leaves you with Mussina, Contreas and a bunch of nobodies in the rotation. That's 3/5th of your rotation gone. Good news, you still have Jeff Weaver! You still have Rivera closing games. You'll have to trade Soriano because you will be desperate for starting pitching. You'll have an aging Bernie Williams and a declining Jason Giambi. Good luck!

Those who spend usually win in sports with no salary cap.The ones that win without spending alot lose most of their team the next year.Prime example the Marlins last time they won.The next year they had what a 1/4 of their starters from the World Series team ? Don't hate because your team isn't willing to spend the money needed to win #Beer

Bada you cheer for the easiest teams in the America...

How hard is it to cheer for the Lakers and Yankees?

Pettitte will choose to go home to Texas next year for big money. Soriano will have to be traded for some starting pitching. Your Yankee starting pitching is shaping up to be pretty bad next year. Money gets you so far as the Diamondbacks, Angels and Marlins have recently displayed.

do i care i lost yes, but do i care how much they spent on all there players no, whoever looks at the money part of baseball isnt a baseball fan at all. yankees lost cause they fogot how to play small ball & failed to score with runners in scoring position every game of these playoffs & world series plain & simple. I dont look at florida $10 mil beat yankees $140 mil, i look at marlins small ball & ability to get things going with runers on more often than not beat the yankees.

Also pettite wont goto texas & soriano wont be traded away im willing to place bets on that. JEff Weaver wont be back, Roger is gone, Bernies prolly last season, Boone is iffy, Nelson & Wells are iffy again.

Tell that to the Brewers, Cardinals, KC, and any of the other slew of small market baseball teams that cant compete because they dont have a payroll of 140 million each year. Salary cap is needed, period. Its like my dad always told me, "Cap it, youll be glad you did"
