I am still around, but RL is a heck of a chore right now. I have night classes two nights a week, with a 45 min one-way commute to the teaching site, plus the college combined class sections because of budget cuts--so instead of 25-30 students in an advanced algebra class, I have 40+. (Equates to about 60 hrs per week work, for 40 hrs pay #Cussing out ) In addition, my wife has gone back to school this semester, and one of her classes is computer applications--so she gets priority on the home computer.

As for playing online--I don't have steam, and don't know when I will get it. I just have not had time to even mess with DLing and trying to install--and then tweak, etc. A couple of my friends here who did DL and install steam said not to mess with it (they have given up TFC/CS entirely because of it). And since RL has been kicking me in the butt, I have not worried to much about gaming lately.

I still read the forums regularly and post occasionally, and hopefully later this fall, toward the end of the semester, life will return to normal.

Good to hear from you at any rate.

I didn't know you taught school

I taught at the college for six years and taught at High School for a year.
(Couputer Aided Design and other Engineering classes)

That was back in '82 thru '88.

I was the youngest teacher in Orange County at the time.

The hours is what got me. I made twice as much in Areospace and when I went home I was done.

Hang in there, I really miss it at times now.

The reward is well worth the price. I was just to young to see it at the time.

I didn't know that you work (worked?) in Aerospace? Where do you work?

I am currently working at LM Aero in Ft Worth on the F-16 MLU's.

I worked in aerospace for 19 years in R&D Engineering.
Now I’m in the commercial market doing HVAC/R (Refrigeration not A/C).
The last plane I worked on was the YF-22 Raptor.
The company I work for is one big company with aerospace sister companies. (UTC)

I can’t get away from it.

j/k I enjoyed it

I was in aerospace too. General Dynamics. I worked on the first f-16's! back before they even sold any Plus we worked on just about all the programs since we were the electronics arm of the company.
They even gave me a shinny new apple 2 to keep my information on. Production Control....baby! My dad worked there too for a few years. testing the atlas missle out by Miramar. That was back in the 50's though.
I miss aerospace now. It was a mix of cool stuff, high pressure, and a great bunch of people.
They moved on from here in 1987 ish.

Throwing in my Aerospace 2 cents:

Worked at Hughes Space and Communications in El Segundo on communication satellites. If you have DirectTV, you are getting the signal from a DBS satellite that I had a hand in designing. If you live on the west coast, chances are good that your pager signals get routed through one of the satellites I worked on.

I liked the design challenges, but disliked the business environment and the area (L.A.). I am very happy to have moved on, but I am still proud of the work I did.
