I opened Steam today and it had to update. It was going fine and then it just decided to close. I opened it and tried again a few times and it keeps doing it. It made it to like 95% and then closed again. When I try to reopen it starts back at around 30%. This is really annoying, is anyone else having this problem?

ya, im trying to get the same update, and it stops downloading at about 34% hopefully its just a problem with the update or something, and they can fix it with a new update.

I finally got it to finish. I had to close everything and watch it. If you look on the Status on the Steam website, a lot of the servers are down and the load on the servers that are up is high.

I was having really bad lag on TV1 and I saw other people in the Spectator's menu that were trying to get in, too. I got out Steam froze. Then I reopened it. It did the update again without a problem. Then it asked for my password like it's supposed to, then it did another update. It seems to be working now, maybe they finally got it fixed.

There was an update for today, but it had a bug in it, so they reverted everyone back to the previous version.

Strange. I got the update, then it said it was going to take like 200 minutes to update Half-Life. Then I deleted the ClientRegistry.blob and redid the update. It's freezing again and now it says I need to install Counter-Strike, Opposing Force, Ricoche, and I think Deathmatch Classic.

I restarted it as I'm typing this because it froze and now it just says Counter-Stike is gone. I know these games are there because the files are there. It's still telling me it's going to take 203 minutes to update Half-Life. Can't they figure out an update has a bug BEFORE they release it?
