Ok, i've already tried searching for this in the Help Support, but it was difficult and unsuccessful because Im not actually sure what its called or doing.

As far as I know I didnt change any settings recently that would've made his happen, but during the day I usually keep my computer on and turn my monitor off. Well about a week ago now, whenever I turn my monitor back on instead of showing my desktop, its at the 'Switch User screen where you have to click the user you want to load.

It seems like its trying to 'sleep', but I dont know why it would be or why its going back to the switch user/login screen. Anyone ever ran into this and know whats up? If not, its not crucial...just kind of a pain in the ass to do everytime I turn my monitor on. Thanks in advance.

never had that happen to me before.

maybe it's a sort of security, like when the comps on for a defined period it automaticly goes back to the login screen to prevent others to be able to open up your comp.

might be completly wrong as i don't need to login.

my 1st question is who are the users to choose from....

it could be some kind of hack that installed an additional user...to allow them to log on.

This actually happened on my system...Unfortunately...i freaked and deleted the unknown user account before I thought too much about it. After I did it...I was kicking myself for not investigating the account and what it was set to allow acceccs to.

in the screen saver tab of the display properties, i think theres a checkbox to make it go to the logon screen after the comp comes out of the screen saver

Sorry Optik I never heard about that issues before.

I have a question too for my XP Home OS. Why is it that I can only put my computer into standby ONCE and it'll wake up autimatically by itself without me touching the mouse or anything else. Also when I try to enter standby again a second time it'll hang at the preparing to enter standby screen. I can't move the mouse or nothing. I would have to hold the power button until the computer powers down. I've search everywhere but nothing. I use standby because when I come home from school I just want to hop on my computer without everything loading up.

I'd would apperciate any help ty.

Well Pond was correct! theres a checkbox that tells it to resume after exiting screen saver at the Welcome Screen.

news to me, seeing as how I never open my Display Properties and only changed my screen saver the first time I got XP...no idea how it got checked.

and sorry Yugi, I have no clue. never used Standby mode.
