Hey when I was that age I would use words like that VP. I knew my Greek mythology and plate techtonics and the entire theory of evolution amoung other things, by 12 and I was reading at a 9th grade level....there are adults who don't know now what I knew at that age. I believe it's for real, some kids talk like that...

But the part that I nodded to the most was:

EGM: Would you rather play this or play outside?

Kids: Outsdie

hahah..Me too...Alot of those games WERE boring, and WERE crappy and you went and did other things after a while. The irrational idea that they were fun is nostolgia and I'm glad we've come as far as we have.....nowdays the games are so entertaining and there is such a vast number of them, kids would rather play games than go to the restroom, and they wonder why there are so many Fat Kids, they don't do anything physical except walk around their house and school.....Back when I was in school there was one fat kid, and they always got picked on, Now they're ALL the Fat Kid! I was driving down the street and saw this little kid huffing and puffing out of breath....playing his gameboy.

A lot of these things kids know that they probably shouldn't come from TV and movies. Then you go on the internet and there is no limit to what they can access. I knew what a pole dancer and a hooker were at about age 10. It is sad in a way, but is this really harming them? I say lots of violence in games, movies, tv, etc. can be harmful.

I think most people have played tetris at some time or another. I used to play space invadors and tetris to waste time, until I got an N64, then a computer and played TFC and it was VERY entertaining compared to the old games. This may be a bad thing when people would rather play on the computer instead of play games outside and stuff. It causes lazyness and other problems.

Whether it is harmful or not is up to the upbringing. If a child is brought up right then they will make the right decisions.

Yes that's true, and I knew these things at least by age 13. But I did not go around using them in my everyday life, especially when playing a game. Point being, if you had been placed into the situation those kids were in, would you have asked some of those idiotic questions? Probably not. That's why I purposely said "They ask the stupidest questions and state the stupidest things, yet some how manage to maintain a vocabulary beyond the IQ these questions and statements should permit.". If they had taken an A honor role azn that knew his stuff, they would have gotten good vocabulary, yes, but they wouldn't have recieved the curse words and things like "she looks like a hooker".

I'm not saying these kids didn't say these things. There are a number of ways you can rig a an event. Scripts, testing of their personality and knowledge before-hand, or taking a single photo of them playing a game and then write the rest of it yourself.

As for your interviews pond and roof...ty for proving that average kids have played tetris before their dbl digit years Killer may know what a hooker is, but does he run around the house saying things look like a hooker? I hope not

It doesn't take an A honor role azn to get a good vocabulary, that's racist. So apparently anyone non-asian honor role would never speak in that manner regardless of intelligence and the size of their vocabulary.

Perhaps they picked kids who were more intelligent to answer these questions so it wouldn't be an ADHD ignoramous-fest.

As a matter of fact I did talk like that. And I would still use the words hooker, shit, and f*ck. I knew what they were and I could give you alternative words to use for them at the same time, and in different languages. I've been playing video games since the NES came out and I was like 6 or 7 and I was always the top of my class, and became a member of Mensa in 7th grade, but I went to the office for discipline at least once a week for misconduct and my parents were always getting calls about what I had done to disrupt class or fight. The Status Quo and authority have always been a thorn in my side.

Intelligent people can be crude and vile, for example Dennis Miller and George Carlin.

I never said only A honor role azn's could have and use a good vocabulary etc. I picked A honor role because that generally shows intelligence and/or motivation. I used azn because azns are normally smarter than the general others. My statement was stereotypical, but it was not racist.

Saying that only supports my hypothesis that this event was rigged in some way or form.

Once again, my statements about such things are stereotypical. I know for a fact that I never saw a 10-13 year old make good grades, cuss or say discriminatory words, and say stupid questions/comments. You may be a unique case, or you may not. I don't know. The point is not to look at the unqiue cases, but is instead to look at your stereotypical pre-teen. This event is to be assumed what the normal pre-teen would say and act like in front of such games as were displayed. Otherwise, the article should say different.

So they can. You've given me only two people to consider though. EGM supposedly went out and grabbed 9 random, sometimes intelligent, sometimes stupid, crude, pre-teen children (only one of which was a girl I might add). What, honestly, is the probability of that?

I'll try and summerize my main point of arguement with an equation.

Stupid comments and question = normal
Intelligent comments and questions = normal
Stupid comments and questions + intelligent comments and questions = abnormal

It's crude, but take the equation for what it is

Buh? What are you talking about? Have you ever actually listened along to two 10 year olds' conversation when they don't know you're listening?

I went to several camps and organizations where these little kids were making dumb toilet jokes to each other. Then, when I go over to talk to them, some suddenly become a lot more quiet, while the braver few glare at me in defiance.

I know that I started cursing and making potty jokes at around ten years, because I read the Men In Black novelization and thought, "Hey, those words are really cool because Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones say them. That means that I can be cool by saying them too!"

At age ten most boys know about guns: the staples being AK-47s, M-16s, Glocks, and Berettas. They associate the guns to the people: AK-47s are used by bad guys, M-16s are used by good guys.

priceless!!!

Not to spoil good fun or anything, but it was.....

Andrew and Niko: Hey, that's from Super Smash Bros.

Andrew: So that's where they got the idea from

Meaning that SSB took the idea from donkey kong

Yeah, that's what I was trying to convey: Obviously the kids knew that these games came before the modern ones such as SSB, but they didn't know where the hammer in SSB came from. This might also mean they don't know what other things come from: They prolly don't recognize Ness from Earthbound, or even Captain Falcon from F-Zero.

Which scares me. People out there are really stupid.

Closing statement: Take the article with a pinch of salt. This is an article designed to entertain, not a write-up on a controlled science experiment. They probably paid the kids to say those things.
