Well Miami isn't the worst sports town in the U.S. Miami supports the Dolphins and Hurricanes. They used to support the Heat until they decided to move as far away as possible from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.
I can't say L.A. either because they support the Lakers and Dodgers no matter what.
Minneapolis still supports the Vikings when they suck.
You could say Cincinnati, but the Reds (except for one year) and Bengals are two of the worst.
The worst sportstown in the U.S. is unquestionably Atlanta. They don't support the Braves and only show up in a World Series. The Phillips Center sees that Hawks and Thrashers play to empty crowds. The last time the Hawks drew anything is when they filled up the Georgia Dome (too big for the Omni) for Michael Jordan's "last visit" in 1998. The Falcons only get a sellout when a good visiting team comes to town. Atlanta is the ultimate bandwagon city. |
