Downloaded and was playing TFC on steam server. Exited that and went to try DOD. It froze and now all I can get is:
Steam has caused an error in STEAM.DLL
Steam will now close
What do I do ???

I re-installed earlier today because of the same issue. However after the second install I was able to at least get into TFC. Then the above happened. I shall NOT be re-installing it again until issues are worked out. This is a total watse of my time. BF1942 is looking mighty good to me.

Restart steam.
Go to the games window and double click DOD. At this point steam may seem to lock up. Its not, its just working. Let it run. Then it will say its ready to play. Join a server and it may update some more files. Then you will be able to join.
The key is unless you get a fatal error pop up Let Steam Run. DOnt think its frozen and restart it. Let It Run, thats how it works.

I've read that steam is having problems if your OS is windows ME like mine. Anyone heard anything about this

The new installers seem to work ok after you run them then copy over your sprites and configs and other stuff.Something with the dlls conflict if you try to move over the whole folder  Real fun to wait in line and then download huge files oh well gg Valve
