Well im gonna be pretty busy the next few days, Major cat 4-5 hurricane headed straight twards New Jersey could hit wend - fri & could be worst stom to ever hit us, with 120-200mph winds, massive rain, tornadoes, and major sea swells, even if it hits the carolinas instead, we will still be seeing a cat 3 -4 hurricane which will be vry destructive....currently getting canned food, water, batteries, radio & looking to see if i can find a cheap gen so i dont go computer less...lol(selfish)....but anyways I hope the rest of the NY/NJ & anyone that has a chance of gettign hit by this the best of luck through the storm & stay safe this isnt no thunderstorm this is a killing machine. I was in hurricane andrew while i lived in florida & all i remember as alittle kid was big hugh billboards flying down my road _________________ Death Before Dishonor :: Semper Fi :: 1st Marine Division 3rd Tracks Bravo Co. |

I live in NC and I am 2 hrs away from Nagshead/Hatteras NC. When Floyd came ashore my town was completely put under 6ft of water and killed a few people.I doubt this storm is going too miss us being that it's a cat 3 and 350 miles wide

yeah, I'm in Jacksonville, and am thinking of buying water and more batteries. Stupid hurricanes, I'm supposed to be having a girl from Mississippi come up on Friday, and this could screw that all up. _________________ Under construction!!! |

http://www.weather.com/maps/news/atlstorm13/isabelcloseupsatellite_large.html not cat 3 strong cat 4 1 mph away from 5, btw the eye of the storm is 40 miles wide, that means if the eye of the storm if 50 miles off coast about as far as 30 miles inland will still see hurricane force winds, & with a high & a low pressure system in place to sturr up soem more wind we could see winds ranging from 120 mph - 200 mph , not koo _________________ Death Before Dishonor :: Semper Fi :: 1st Marine Division 3rd Tracks Bravo Co. |

yeah, I live 15 miles from onslow beach, and about 20 miles from emerald Swansboro, so I'm thinkin I might need to get some tape for my windows. Too bad someone elses car is in my garage, which means I can't put my truck in there. . what kind of sucks is that we were planning a field exercise starting on Saturday, but looks like it might not happen, oh wait, that measn I won't have to go out in the mud. Hmmmmm, Hooray hurricanes!!!! Of course, if it blows my house down, I'll be in the mud anyways. _________________ Under construction!!! |

You ever been around "St. Augustine Road" not the beach, i lived off of that road for 5 years. But apparently this hurricane is going to come up through the NE, and i just so happen to turn on the TV to see NE PA in th dead middle of where this bad boy is rolling, hopefully by the time it gets to us it is dead :\ or im screwed _________________

I would not use your computer using a generated power source like a gas powered generator due to the fluctuation of voltage that has been known to fry motherboards.

Since the military has been gracious enough to give us time to run and hide, I think I'm going to take the opportunity for an impromptu vacation and head west for a few days. Of course I will be taking my most valued possessions (comp, new guitar I just bought, photos) with me, just in case my house blows away. At least I'll be away from all that wind when it gets here. _________________ Under construction!!! |

Do you think that the media has a tendency too blow shit like the weather way out of proportion ? I do.. Floyd was way worse in my opinion than the storm that just blew thru. The worst thing about it was being without power, that goes out at the drop of a fart in my area anyway.
Anyway I'm glad she was a flop |

Yeah, I was kind of surprised. Me and some friends got ripped last night, and I ended up sleeping through the hurricane today. We didn't even lose power all that much, it flickered a whole lot, but that was it. Oh well, at least my house is intact, and my car is unscathed. _________________ Under construction!!! |
