Well, I hate to say it, but....Valve has just owned all you HL2 naysayers. Save up your lunch money, cause the game is still set for Sept. 30, 2003, and shows no signs of changing. The graphics are great, the levels are stunning, and Gordon is silent, so you better plan a scheme to get your game before all the others beat you to it.

Facts:
1) The game is going to cost $50
2) The game is still set for Sept. 30 (must....repeat...)
3) It owns all...no really...it does....even that kid sitting in the back row...
4) Yes! That kid!
5) People with lower end systems (within reason) are NOT going to be left behind. The game minimum is a DX6 video card, 128mb ram, and around 700mhz processor.
6) Minimum does not mean "trash" in this case. The worst thing, according to what I read, would be a drop in graphical detail. The game should still run fine.
7) The kid with the red shirt....
8.) The AI in the game owns all, even the card table.
9) Valve has pre-released their SDK to known modders, so be expecting some HL2 mods closer to the release than should be.
10) HL2 is going to make me pee my pants
11) The release date is STILL set for Sept. 30, and has not changed since I started this post (The release date was confirmed by 3 different people in 3 different interviews)

And the worst one of all for some of you....

12) HL2 online will be running off of Steam, and only Steam.

Besides that, you better get ready, cause PC gaming is about to be revolutionized. #Beer #Beer

TY you Sierra and Valve for completely screwing all mods.

Shhhh.....just play the single player version until they patch Steam all up, then The game is supposed to consist of something around 3-4 hours per chapter (there should be 12 chapters).

NO YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY FOR THE 10000TH TIME. Valve left it open as an option for those who want to TRYOUT the game for a month or two. If you pay the 50 bucks, you will not have to pay any access fees for multiplayer.

correct, but you will have to pay for mods and expansions. Something HL1 didnt do. I'm kinda both ways on this. If someone develops a mod and wants to give it for free to add to HL2 is steam going to let it or is it still going to structure it to make you pay for it.

You will have to most likely pay for expansions (like usual) or valve created mods...all user mods will be free and Valve has said many times that they will help them implement them into steam.

That is slightly incorrect. Yes you will have to pay for expansions, just as you paid for Opposing Force and Blue Shift. And yes, you may have to pay for mods if the mod developers decide to charge you. This decsion is not Valve's. It is solely up to the development teams. Mod developers will still be able to distribute their mods free of charge.

Tell you what...I'll give you a discount. You can bang me against the wall by my ankles 5 times, for only $215. Or you can have the GRAND special. Only $1000 dollars for 30 hits

If you continue to read what I posted you would see that I didnt know how the ones that were intended to be free were going to be handled by steam. Since they are the ones in total control of content here.
