Nice to read 7 pages of ppl having nothing but problems with it. Not one single person was happy it seemed.

IMO this is absolutely going to kill HL based games if they dont get thier shit together. For you few that seem to like steam, I'm glad. But just look at percentages of ppl. They are going to get frustrated, sick of not being able to play cause its taking 3 or more hours to see nothing but a little box telling them its updating. Not knowing when its going to finish cause they only put up 3 freaking servers for the whole HL community. I guess they are going to fix cheating, just not in the way they thought.

My great experience with Steam was during the first beta, when
I signed onto what was then Munk's TV4 and was promptly
kicked by CSGuard for wallhacking.

Signed on with my regular install and no wallhack was detected,
of course. Haven't messed with it since: I take it personally to
be called a cheater, even just by a buggy program, when I'm not and
never have been.

Steam is awesome once you get it to work. Try getting it updated late nights/early morning or wait a few days until the servers arent being abused.
