i write poems and songs in my free time, and i sent one in to this publishing company. i didnt do it on purpose but i wanted to sign up to this one site and it required me to sign up for this publisher comp. so i sent one in not thinking about it.

well as it turns out i just got a letter saying that im a finalist in the international amatuer open poetry competition and i have a formal invitation to the actual open down in orlando florida. its pretty cool. i didnt even see it coming so its kinda humerous. anyway if i win i get 10,000 dollars, for second i get 1,000 and for 3rd you get somethin else. im pretty psyched. also my poem will be published in a book and they told me that i can send in some of my songs/poems and they will publish the ones i write and they will be copywritten. pretty neato.

if you guys wanna read the poem that i got into the finals with, here it is.
its not from any personal experience, it just popped into my head one night. i dont know. it was a song but i had to change it to get it in the requirements. here ya go

I'm a fool to think any of this matters
Bruised, bound, and broken
and left in tatters
if i try to work this out
No matter what i say
i can't see this through
i can't get through to you
Bruised, bound, and broken
and nothing heard that iv'e spoken

eh its not great but for a random poem making it that far, i have no complaints
