I was wondering around the internet the other night and was amazed at how many leagues and tournaments there are for game like TFC. I was wondering how many people here get involved with them, as I've always seen a lot of great players here. Any info or links anyone has would be appreciated, as im interested in traveling that road as well.

Thanx
Maximus

First lose the noob clan tag.
Then start doing research on what clans are good, and tryout for the ones with openings.
Oh, in case njk is not a total noob clan sign up into one of the lower brackets of OGL(online gaming league) or STL(Stronger then All league or IGL(Iron Glove League). These have been around a while and are pretty organized. See how you clan does then decide if you want to stay in them.
Leagues and clans take up alot of time. This is a major decision. IF you want the best experience then make time for the clan. It's hard and sometimes boring. The only time I really got into clans was when I had mono for four months and could leave my house. But in any case have fun and do your best.

SNaylouff is right... just take some time and look into those leagues. Bloody Roar has just started playing in STA and it's tough. I grew up (TFC Style) in Avanti and now we have to learn different maps and use completely different skills.

It's also a different commitment than just playing with the Brother's in the Ville. Some of the teams we've played already are extremely well organized, Highly Skilled, and communicate on a level you don't see in open play... It's making us better but sometime u feel like a Newb again.

Go ahead and try it but make sure the entire team is ready for the commitment.

Leagues:

OGL, Online Gaming League. http://www.worldogl.com.
If you have not joined a league before I would highly reccomend starting here. They do not have set days during the week and give the clans the opportunity to select the best day for them. They offer 5v5 or 9v9 competition. They have lots of clans which are new to the clanning scene.

STA, Stronger Than All. tfc.stronger.org or tfc.stronger.org/5on5. They play on Monday nights for 9v9 and Tuesday nights for 5v5. They are an established league and have different divisions based on how successful you have been in the past, in other words if you are a new clan you wont be pitted up against a vetran clan. Another league to consider if you are just starting out.

TFL, Team Fortress League. http://www.tfleague.com. Just like STA, this league has different divisions, so you wont be pitted against vetran clans if you are just starting. They play 9v9 on Thursday nights. They also have a 5v5 league, but Im not sure what day that is on.

PFL, Pro Fortress League. If you havent had at least 6 months of clan experience dont even bother with this league.

IGL, Iron Glove League. Like PFL, these are mostly clans that have been around for many months or even years, dont even bother with this league quite yet.

There are some newer leagues to tfc, like COC, www.clashofclans, they offer 5v5 and 7v7. There is also CAL (cant remember the URL), which is already a great league for other games but is just starting with TFC.

To find more information about the clanning community in general check out http://www.catacombsnews.com and http://www.planetfortress.com.

I'm sure I missed a bunch of leagues and helpful websites, but that should get you headed in the right direction. Like the other guys said, be ready to commit a lot of time.

Lol snipers do relatively little in 5 vs. 5 clan warfare. I suggest learning soldier, scout, medic, and maybe demo and engy.
