I love the Dark Tower series also, the new book, DT 5: The Wolves of Calla comes out in Nov. I also like how the last Dark Tower book went to the world of The Stand, which is my absolute favorite King novel. Captain Tripps pwns j00!!!111 When I first started playing HL I went by the names Capt. Tripps, Randall Flagg or The Walking Dude _________________

Yeha, I enjoyed reading Jordan's WOT until I noticed that the first 200 pages was just recapping the last book, then I kind of lost interest.
Favorite author of all time is J.R.R. Tolkein. I really loved reading the Silmarillion, it seemed more historical than anything else, and I love history books. That and the overall book had a very sad feel to it, almost like one of those "love lost" type feelings, but deeper I thought.
I would have to say that my favorite book of all time would be "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy. I read it pretty much to affirm to myself that I had what it takes to read something of that scope. Then as I started reading it I realised that it is probably one of the most indepth and vivid books I've ever read. Don't get me wrong, it is hard to read, simply trying to keep up with all the family members is a huge pain, but it's more than worth the temporary blindness!! _________________ Under construction!!! |

I'm always a big fan of fantasy books. My favorite author would have to be Eddings, closely followed by R.A Salvatore _________________

Yeah. It was more like book 9 1/2. All his other books could somewhat stand on their own, as stories, but without book 9, you could never get anything from book 10. _________________

I'm a very heavy reader because my job requires me to be on a bus 3 hrs a day. My favorite author right now is Chuck Palahnuik who wrote Fight Club (the same that was made into the movie). His books are incredible and I recommend Fight Club and another one called Survivor. My other favorite book is GeeK Love by Katherine Dunn and this is one of the best but strangest books I have ever read.If anybody has read Geek Love let me know what you thought of it. I couldn't put these books down. |
Chuck is friggin awesome. CHole was another good book by him. Stephen King, Michael Chrichton, and most classics are good. _________________

Hey man, Stephen Kings book (i think it was the stand, or last stand?) about the end of the world about and evil peoples and what have you was the greatest book i ever read. Its like 1200 pages, and its pure goodness. I will say that some parts of the book should be for more adult readers.... or some parental consent, but go pick it up! |

I also forgot my favorite "sci-fi" writer, William Gibson, Neuromancer is amazing. For those of you that haven't read his stuff, his books take place in a Blade Runner-ish world. Great stuff. _________________

And just because the word is starred, it doesn't mean I don't know what it is. If you would just stop talking or making references to me, it would be much appreciated. Good day kid. _________________ Usually my sig goes here, but who the hell needs one anyways. |
