I got the newest php-nuke version and it only comes in a .tar.gz file and I have no idea what to do with this. I went to some sites about it, but I don't have any programs are anything to extract it. Can anyone tell me where I can get a free program that does this, or can someone turn it into a .zip file and send it to me?

did you try WinRAR? I'm not sure if thats the same but im pretty sure winrar extracts .tar files

WinRAR worked. Now there's a bunch of files without file extentions, but I'm sure I can figure those out with the version I have now.

They doubled up on the compression for some reason. You have to use winrar and uncompress the first file, then you have to do it again with the new file

Thats a *nix tarball. It's used for *nix systems. It's equivelant to a zip file except that if keeps the files permissions intact.
