Well the attendance and/or interest level in the Friday evening custom map event down right suxs

So a little poll if you please

Please post your comments so I can tell weather to put this event to bed or keep it going

I chose other because there are a few reasons I don't do the custom map thing. First of all, DoD is too laggy for my dial-up. Also, I don't really feel like downloading a bunch of new maps. If I ever get a better connection, I would be more interested and try to get the maps and play. It would be fun, but I can't right now. The night is good for me and a custom map night is a great idea.

Downloading the maps is a pain in the butt b/c my browser sometimes is messed up. I don't feel like I'm wanted to play very often (due to the fact that I shoot people and that just b/c I shoot people they say I hack or cheat or whatever) this doesn't bother me much but I don't want to piss people off. Some of the maps are kinda boring dod_fun_night dod_hill_classic dod_clope and dod_2pillboxes are maps I asked BRN to put on the server, I find that these maps are mostly smaller and better when played without snipers due to bigger range advantage, or could even be played with automatic weapons only (could be more thrilling since there is no range advantage or dmg advantage). Just my opinions.
But I think those 4 maps i listed are incredibly fun ....

in my case blue i just forgot and i usually just look at the most recent post on the main page and don`t really go into the forums. and did not earlier today see anything bout custum maps . don`t give up on this and we`ll all bump the custom map thread to keep it alive in the recent postsection.

Make a map pack and all is forgiven. Individual downloading is a pain, especially when you are not sure what maps you need to download because there are two threads for custom map night, and you arent sure what maps you already have, wasting time and bandwidth downloading duplicates. That is on top of the time spent making sure the zips actually install to the correct directories....

Basically what I am saying is that prepping for cmn takes away too much valuable DoD playing time.

Sunday nights would be nice. Since I work at nights Tuesday through Saturday for the last 2 years. I have not been able to make any special events since they are always on Friday or Saturday night. But that is usually the days the majority pick. Monday night would be good, but I understand if nobody wants to do it after work.

I was there for a short time tonight but got a call from Did It Hurt to meet up with him a day early. I had the pleasure of meeting Did It Hurt, Little Miss Hurt, Azreal, and Verman. I was there as long as I could before I had to start getting ready.

Personally I like the Friday nights thing. It reminds me of the fnf that we used to have for tfc. After a hard week of work it is nice to wind playing with regs trying out new maps. It is a great idea that will catch on once there is a set time and a set day that it is held on. I know next week and the following weeks I will be there. We may run into a problem next August though around the time of the Ville Bash III

I think a small part of being short could be some of the regs in Vegas. You've got a good 8 people here in Vegas rather than playing DOD. I'd try it again next Friday.
