Vulcan,
Sounds good man. I am typing this on a very similar system I built a few months ago. I got the Asus A7N8X Deluxe version 2.0 and a 2500 Barton. I got two 512 Corsair XMS but only 2700. I kind of regret not going for the 3200, now. I figure once the 3200 Barton comes down in price, I'll upgrade to that. I also got an ATI vid card that was on sale. It all works great. And it is pretty affordable. I saved big time over getting another Dell with similar components and undoubtedly some inferior stuff like the Power supply.
Good luck with it.

ddr is sd just doubled up found this might help
DDR (Double Data Rate SDRAM)
DDR basically doubles the rate of data transfer of standard SDRAM by transferring data on the up and down tick of a clock cycle. DDR memory operating at 333MHz actually operates at 166MHz * 2 (aka PC333 / PC2700) or 133MHz*2 (PC266 / PC2100). DDR is a 2.5 volt technology that uses 184 pins in its DIMMs. It is incompatible with SDRAM physically, but uses a similar parallel bus, making it easier to implement than RDRAM, which is a different technology _________________

Well, I have the system, forget where the thread is where I said the specs. Pretty close to what I had planned on, except got the ATI Radeon 9600 pro 128mb video card instead of the geforce fx. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |
