I switched to my new box. I can connect to TFC and NS servers. Whenever I try to connect to a DOD server or start a DOD Lan game it almost starts. You get to the point where you can hear the maps sounds then it drops you to the desktop. Anyone have any clues? The only real difference is the old laptop had an Nvidia chip and the new laptop has an ATI chip.

Welcom To The Wonderful world of DOD Nanite.. Unfortunatly it is a bug with DOD. It happens to me quite a bit and sometimes does take a few tries to get in.

Try searching the DOD forums at www.dayofdefeat.com

I had that problem and it turned out that I installed DoD before updating HL and I guess it didn't like it. I reinstalled DoD and it worked. If you installed it before updating, try reinstalling it. If that's not the problem reinstall it anyway and see if it works.

Thanks Stevo I did indeed install DOD before updating. I'll give it a try tonight.

make sure your CS update is 1.0.0.5 if you have the retail CS, or 1.5 if you have the mod CS for HL..........then install dod 1.0 and it should go alright.....I had the same problem....

Wow i am honored to have a problem named after me. Maybe we can call it the "POWDER SICKNESS" or the "POWDER FRUSTRATION" or the "POWDER KICKS HIS COMPUTER AND HURTS HIS FOOT WHEN THE MAP DOESN'T LOAD". Yeah server 9 is off limits to this super hero i have thought about reinstalling but i don't want to go through all that (yes lazy bones i am) since the other servers now work perfectly. Anyway reinstalling is the only solution ive heard of besides the pesky bug showing his face. Anyone know the number of the local exterminator cause we need him STAT.
