Are lame. I went to try to be a mg34 in flash and the server said that my team had too many. We had 1. I am against class limits in DoD as they ruin the gaming experience. What do you think? |

I dont really play DoD anymore, but the last few times i did, I wish they had limits. a team full of MGs & snipers is a turtlefest. i agree only 1 is low, should be 2 but not more than that. pick random, i've found that it seems to favor MGs...
shouldn't be too big of a problem though, most are thompson/mp40 h00rs _________________

I don't care for them to much myself. Seeing as how I am either sniping or MG, if there are already 2 there then I have nothing left that I like playing. Having 2 bad snipers on your team will just kill your defense, or offense for that matter. Hopefully this is just a trial basis. _________________

5 snipers on one team, is just way too much. I think there should be a limit on snipers. everything else is ok _________________

I don't think there should be class limits. There have been countless times when a MG or a sniper have been horrible. Yes true most people like to play those two positions and yes it is possible that you could have an entire team of MG's or Snipers but hey that is life and if that is what they want to do then they can do it. I think restricting things such as how many people can play a certain class will eventually lead to less people(perhaps regs) playing due to the constraints and lack of freedom it places upon the individual.

The problem with restricting the sniper role is useless since, more people snipe with the regular rifle. Than the sniper rifle. |

What really pisses me off is that it seems that only the germans have class limits. At least I know that the brits dont. Havent checked the american classes yet. Having a limit of 1 class_mg34 is crap when they guy using it on your team is camping in a crappy spot. Use the mg42 you say? No way, I hate it because it is too innaccurate even in deployed mode. |

I like the obvious bias in opinion shown in the poll choices. A more accurate description of the Yes choice would be: I like a balanced game.
Class limits help keep the game flowing. Would a team full of MGS be fun? I say no. It's funny how in TFC people are yelled at and told to "learn a different class." I guess that's asking too much in DoD. _________________

There have been very few instances that I have seen where the games were unbalanced due to having to many of a class. The times I had seen it I would speak up and people would start switching classes around.
I have never seen a map full of MG's. Would it be fun? I doubt it but it just doesn't happen. I have seen more snipers than needed but once the team starts to lose a round or 2 then people start switching classes or those playing sniper leave to find a server with less snipers. That usually leads to new peeps coming in and playing.
I just didn't think that class limits were necessary. But then again I am not on the servers 24/7. There may have been situations that may have led to it. I just hope that they are taken off. _________________

I think BRN said it perfect. At times you have too many snipers or mgs but once your team loses a couple real quick it is amazing how fast people change their class. In dod if your only offense is snipers and mgs you quickly find how vunerable you are to the enemy sneaking up and shoveling you. You need other classes in front of your snipers clearing out the enemy and capping flags. I could never play one of those classes in DOD, I need to keep moving around all the time, if I sit in one spot for too long I get bored. I say remove the limits, I have never seen it be a problem for more than a couple rounds. |

I don't follow the reasoning.
Without class limits: There are sometimes problems with the class choices that lead to a crippled team or a lame game. Sometimes the players do not solve the problem and the game is ruined for some. Players will selfishly choose a class they want that will not always be beneficial to the team, and force those who care to switch to make up for you.
With class limits: The problem never arises.
Maybe I'm missing something. _________________

The main issue is I didn't see a real problem the way it was before. Teams that were having the problems with too many of a certain class would soon realize this and start making adjustments. I don't think that the game has to be so structured that you have to make limitations such as those.
Was this a major problem for DOD here?? Were the Snipers and MG's really killing the teamwork to the point that they had to be limited?? I must be missing something that you were seeing in game Chen. _________________

WE HAVE NO CLASS LIMITS AT ALL ON TV1 OR TV4. I know what you are talking about, when we were playing kalt last night when you couldnt be a mg34. And i explained there that I would look into it. I was extremely exhausted last night and I did not remember that could have fixed it using a rcon command.
Heres what happend, before kalt was loaded a new map was being played wihch did have class limit imposed in the cfg. Only because I have not had time to go through the cfg's for the new maps. Its taken care of as of now.. |

You might want to check the settings again. On Kalt at about 12:40 ville time I was told that the server had reached the limit of mg34's (we had 1). |
