| why would anyone buy the retail version when all they have to do is buy half life and they can download every mod they want. |

Sierra is banking on the ignorance of others. They provided the retail version for DOD and didn't mention the fact that you could download it, along with a bunch of other mods, for free. From what I am gathering it has paid off too because I see more and more Valve ID's everyday. Talk about good marketing

| I only bought it becuase i had a gift card i needed to use and the download always stops at 99%. |

I think Activision released it, not Sierra.

hopefully they'll come out with stats that work with both valveids and wonids. any of you think that will be seen in the near future.

I've got an inquiry about that on the Hlstats forum, some guy supposedly wrote a fix for it.
