it should work take out your pc100 stick and put in your 2 pc133 sticks and boot up it should recognize it because pc133 will run on a 100bus.once u have done that and if it worked turn it off and put in your pc100 in the third slot assuming u have three.then try again to see if it recognizes all of it and if not 256 is better than 128..even at pc100 speed
where u might have problems is if you are running a brand name ie compaqt etc they can be finicky for aftermarket shiat.
oh one more thing if it does not recognize it try updating your bios if u have not done so.
i`m no expert but have gone through this a few years ago and i got it to work on my puter then (hp)
good luck _________________

Some older motherboards can't read larger ram modules. I got a stick of 512 megs of pc133, and my motherboard only uses 256 megs of it .
If that is the case, your best bet is to return the 2 256 meg modules and get some 128 meg sticks. Hope that helped. |

When I went Gateway (about 2 years ago) the motherboard maxed out at 128Mb/slot. Its quite possible that your machine doesnt recognize the 256 because its too much. Give Gatewat a call, they should be able to tell you if this is the problem.
BTW, I'm looking for PC400 ram. Anyone here ever bought it before? Know where I can find a deal? |

Well, I use DDR 333mhz PC2700. I imagine that you need PC3200 (400 mhz) for yours Twisted.
I buy my memory here: http://microchipcomputers.com/
I live pretty close to it, and I have never had problems with the memory I have bought there. _________________ Been chasing since May 2001!

I was thinking the same thing...
However, you could also have a bad stick. Try booting with just 1 of the 256's. That'll give you a good idea. If it shows 256, the other may be bad. If it shows 128...then see above. If it doesn't boot, try the other, and probably the first stick was the bad one. _________________
