TFC isnt dead. I just had a great game on TV3 with the likes of Mr Kason, JD, JCOM, Gurrg, Munk, and others. It just proves that if you play it they will come.

This is an interesting thread in many respects. My two cents are as follows and do not represent the opinions of any other.

Over the course of time TV 1 through 8 have changed ip addresses countless times. Particularly 1,2 and 3. Every time this was followed by a decline in traffic. Sometimes the server recovered, but my observation was that more times than not the bulk of the decline was permenant. This is not to say that tfc is not in decline but is said to suggest it effects what remaining traffic exists.

To a lessor extent, both the posts and announcments at the Ville website decreed that tfc was either finished or in danger. This in my minds eye has further eroded traffic. At the very least it's eroded my confidence that tfc is of importance to the immediate future of the ville.

While some of the current mods are of interest to me, none come close to my passion for tfc. Accordingly, I've begun to play at alternate locations where there are still pockets of heavy traffic.

I fell upon Pete's sometime ago but until recently, I always played it as a secondary server to the Ville. At this time what Pete's does offer me is a 24/7 Dustbowl/Avanti & occasional Cornfield server with a pretty steady 50 ping. To that end this server is administered in much the same way as Ville servers are and as such provides a pretty comfortable tfc gaming environment.

For me, my sincere hope is that HL2 will spawn passion in some form of tfc again at the Ville. Until then I see little evidnece that there is enough interest in stimulating TFC growth at the level required for a healthy, functioning gaming environment. For me I'm just in a wait and see kind of mind set.

Well, the USV server had 8 players last night, on a custom map. Hehe

Osiris and I have had some fun playing around on a new map. Heck, even Thewz stopped in for a while.

I'm getting sick...and...tired of people saying that TFC is dying. It isn't dying FFS. However TFC is dying here at theville and at other places it seems to be popular still.

Hopefully when HL2 comes out, a TFC2 will probably enhance the community. We'll see what happens...but like the others are saying I suggest the adminstrators put the bots back in the server, and when real people come in kick the bots out.

Give the people what they want....

I don't know if it is dead, but I have gotten tired of the game. I guess I sorta quit once bhopping became so popular (or at least a lot more people started doing it). It kinda turned me off of the game. Of course, this is just my opinions...

I have been playing ET the last few days, and it is awesome in my opinion. It has objectives other than just capturing flags, and you don't die from one shot (unless it is a panzerthingie or support fire). So, I think it is the best of DOD and TFC in a lot of way.

I don't know if TFC is dying in the world, but for me it is dead. I played 5 years that game, I had incredible fun and intensity playing with [CSI] for 3 years, and then lot of fun at the Ville. In fact, The Ville was the only thing that hold me to TFC, because I was becoming more and more annoyed with chasing, spamming, bhopping, but on the other hand regs were a funny bunch.

When I tried DoD, it was love at first sight, no chasing, no bhopping, no spamming, and a sneaky feel and sometimes good teamplay. This was for me the killing shot to TFC.

I think this sound file of one of the greatest speeches of the 20th century sums up what we should be doing. I just started playing TFC, so I do not want it to die before I can learn it

Hear the speech

Ahhh, I love that speech..... it reminds of the good ol days when it was ok to drink till you fell down, toilet paper someone elses private property....even convert a parade float into a detructive force the likes of which the world had never seen before...((sigh)) I think I'm gonna go drink now. #Beer #Beer

As for me... Unga Bunga... TFC Not Dead...

the only reason im really agenst the hole idea of getting rid of tfc. Is cause when im like tired or something and dont really wanna think very hard then tfc is the thing for me. Maybe we can have like one server and the rest be dod and ns. Tfc is still usful after a long day of work.
