Dan, the remaining TFC server is not playable at 400 ping. I had lesser pings on dialup.

Yea, i have tried to play on munks. Either his line is having trouble or his server needs to be totally redone(just the hl part). As I remember the hardware hes running is pretty good.
Id say if anything lets get tv2 running tfc again. As i remember it had a good ping. |

I did a tracert and pinged 115 to his server in NY. That's fine for me

It was purchased as a private server. Making it pub would make it subject to fine due to the terms of agreement.

Um, were taking steps on this folks. Blown is going to try to work it over and I hope Danno will be able to give him a hand. Munkey has given us the blessings to try to do what we can for TV3.
Try some positive attitudes folks or no tims for you!!!

TV3 does not have a bandwidth problem. Its actually not a hardware problem either I dont believe, the server is plenty fast. Personally I think its needing a full reinstall of the OS. Why you ask I think this. Well its a dual P3 800 rig, same as petes used to run way back when and they didnt have load probs like this. Its not bandwidth cause ASE shows a good ping, but in the listing when ppl are playing its at 10 or less FPS. This causes your in game pings to go up, even though out of game the pings are good. Just like a slow computer running warpath, it chokes cause its a crappy map and hogs on a computer. Not bandwidth. Because my computer is a 2 ghz machine it doenst even touch it cpu wise.
I can understand Dannos feelings on TV1, I saw it empty soo much of late. Switch it to D0D and its very popular, and not at the expense of TV4. TV2 for whatever reason hasnt been popular even when it was the only other D0D server. So now instead on one busy D0D server we have two.
TV6 is hit and miss, kinda like TV1 but worse. PPl get on like last night and play and have fun, cept last night my mistake was I had TFC and ET running at the same time and never expected both to be full, especially with the recent attitudes of quite a few of TV6. Hard to swallow money and time when ET fills up like D0D did on TV1. So sorry bout the lag last night, it was my fault.
Me personally, Ive said this before, and Ill say it again. Ill play on TV2, TV3 (when its not at 9 fps) or TV6 of TFC. Oh, my pings will be a good 60-70 on TV6 or a little higher at 120-150 on TV2. And you know what, Ill go out and have fun with the ppl I consider friends, maybe not personal ones, but all the same friends. This is the part I guess where ppl take crap too damn seriously and forget to just go out and have a fun time. Ive had terrible connection probs with my charter connection. 300-500 pings, oh ya, I still played and had fun. Maybe not the way I would normally do, but I made the best of it. I guess thats what Im trying to say is just make the best of whats here.
The part that pisses me off the most though is the ones that bitch, whine complain and dont give one damn bit of input except give us our TV1 back or I'm just going somewhere else. Well to you, I say GROW UP. |

Some sort of circular object. Sugary, I think.... definately some sort of sweetness there. Perhaps, and I'm going waaaay out on a limb here, perhaps it might contain a number of little chocolatey items, almost shaped like chips.

I reconnect on Wed.
I don't dig NS much.
DOD is koo.
I can't wait until HL Rally comes out. Although that will probably get old fast unless it's super koo.
I hope to still see some TFC'ers here. I can't imagine TheVille w/out at least one TFC server. I'll stick around for HL2 and beyond. This is the place I wish I could play all my games.
Whatever is here when I connect, is what I'll play.
