I don't want mine any higher than where they are at. It looks no different to me if it is any higher than 60 fps. I did some tweaking a while ago and saw absolutely no difference when I was running it at 90+ fps. It's nice to know I can run that high but it's not neccesary.

I only get around 14 also, but like Blackhawk I'm on a laptop. That'll change when my Area-51m arrives.

I'm gonna try some of those settings Species. I do appreciate you taking the time to write it all down like that. If they don't work I can always remove them

BRN, if your FPS stays at 60 its not your game settings, its your refresh rate on your monitor. I had to download Rage3DTweak to get mine back to 99 again. If you have a nvidia card its a diff program, I think its called reforce something. Just do a search for refresh tweak programs.

On Nvidia cards just go to the settings and turn v-sync disabled by default and then in console type fps_max 100 and you will be at 99 all the time (must be a good card).

Ty DK I've got the same card as you. I found the fps_max with np but where do I find v-sync

Go to your desktop, right click, properties, then click on settings, click on the advanced button, then on the geforce ti tab, then click on open gl, and you will see v-sync, make that off by default.

This will help you blue will all HL mods.

I am not sure if it would effect BF1942 or anyother game.

Great going to check asap

Didn't work I change it over to "off by default" and apply it but it will not stay as I set it. It keeps on reverting back to "on by default"

I tried doing that but this is all that came up:

sv_maxspeed 500

//DoD Bullet Tracer settings
traceroffset 100
tracerlength 0.45
tracerred 1.3
tracerblue 0.1
tracergreen 0.7
traceralpha 0.45
tracerspeed 6250

Just add the lines listed there and it will run every time you open Half-Life. You can add any settings you want.

Tried restarts and every possible combination I could think off and nothing. My card is a GeForce4 Ti 4600 and it allows 3 options with the vertical sync:

always off
off by default
on by default

It was set to on by default and the only option that it will allow me to do is always off which is what I set it for. I'll give that a try and let you know.
