Jason is unstoppable.. He averages 15.8 kills per film compared to a measly 5 kills per film for Freddy.

Not to mention he doesn't waste any time toying with them, when he sets his sights on someone their average time till death is usually seconds. Plus Jason got upgrades in Jason X, Mecha-Jason vs Freddy.

No, we all KNOW it's going to be terrible, but it's the novelty of the movie that makes it appealing. Noone has any expectations and know it's going to be cheesier than anything, but who can resist seeing two horror icons duke it out in all the cheesed glory of gore, special effects, and rapid fire killer one liners.
The movie I'm worried about is Terminator 3  The guy who played the kid in 2 read the script and said "No thanks" and James Cameron was asked to direct again for the 3rd, read the script and said "No Way!". The fate of a badass franchise is balancing on this next movie and I have a bad feeling it's going to be destroyed. They should have left it alone and ended it at T2.
Although there is talk of production beginning on what could be a really awesome movie. Aliens vs Predator.

The new trailer of T3 is actually good. I'm hoping it won't flop and ruin the franchise though.

I saw the preview when I saw the Matrix movie. Everyone in the theater just laughed when it was over.

I doubt this film will win an Oscar. That's not the point. Most of the latest Freddy & Jason movies have been horrible. You either like it or you don't. It is the novelty at this point. Look how ignorant pro wrestling is and that's a million dollar industry. It's all about what appeals to you. I think Freddy was the most creative when dispatching his victims. He didn't just hack them up, he made it interesting. That to me earns him points!
