There are currently 3 TFC servers still running. 2 public and 1 private. I was on Blown's server today and of course I ping better there than I did to TV1 but everyone else was pinging fine there too. Having your ping go from 60 to 120 is not that big a deal.

DOD now has 3 servers. All 3 are public. 2 of the servers are busy most of the time.

I don't agree with the "TFC is dead" mentality but it is in a big decline. When I first started playing, many moons ago, the server list was under 1000. At it's peak, from what I recall, it got at or near 6000. It is currently back near the 1000 server mark. After 5 years of service it is not as popular as it once was and it isn't getting any better.

As far as what to do with TV? I would say that is up to the server owner. What ever he decides is fine with me. I don't care what mod he puts there to be honest because I play both of them. But whatever he does decide I think at least a thank you for what he has/is doing is definately in order. Not only has he set up TV1 but he has helped in setting up TV4, TV6, and TV7. He has worked tirelessly to do nothing but help this community grow. Thanks again for all your help Danno.

Now the real question is how many more threads are there gonna be on this topic??

Everybody here knows the password.

On TV6 today everyone was pinging just fine. I heard no one complaining about anything there.

And Gizanked, learn to time your HH concs differently. I have been playing with pings in the 120 range on TV1 and I can time them. It just takes adjustment.

How true I've always pinged at a little over 100 Its something that you become accustomed too and adjust your style to accomodate.

almost all servers I go to I ping around 80-120 and I can hit 90% of my HH concs. You just find the timing different is all.

16 ppl playing, quite a few were sub 100 (most I know are west coast ppl, Trig, Kookie, BRN, Pig, Cycodad, Stutter and a few others) Then there are a few in the low 100's. very very few ppl I see in the 200's and the ones I do see usually say they are on dialup. Anyway, maybe some can chime in from the east coast.

Sorry to say guys, but I get a horrible ping on TV6. A 30 ping difference isn't a lot, but I'm spiking around the range of 50-100. I played with a normal ping of 160 or a little higher a long time ago, and I always hated it. I could never get used to the lag. And now, everytime I shoot, prime nades, throw nades, switch weapons, or basically do anything, I'm delayed. It's starting to get on my nerves, and I'll probably start playing TFC somewhere else if TV1 doesn't switch back or my ping on tv6 doesn't get any better.

Some of us can't afford a different ISP.

yup, I keep messing with settings trying to get pings lower on the server. Only so much I can do though. I actually got my client settings at cl_cmdrate 15 and cl_updaterate 10. My ping went from 80-90 to 45-55. Was on another server that was full, that I usually had 40-50 pings, now they are 22-32. I'd play with these settings some, both up and down. BTW, dont pay attention to netgraph pings, look at the scoreboard pings.

I'll connect to TV6 from here, and at home, and let you know how it turns out.

I'm in New England. On T1 at work, and cable at home. I woudl ping between 30-60 on TV1 (T1) and 75-110 (cable).

My sentiments exactly! The server owner is the decision maker and after all the hard work he has contributed to the Ville.org without pay or reward, he gets first choice...

My only question is WTF is wrong with TV2?? Why don't we fill that server up?

Blue Ruler and I go there every evening and try to draw players. Its hard to do especially when you are sitting on the server for an hour before anyoneone starts to show up. Maybe you could talk warhammer into making TV2 into a TFC server?
