The Stanley Cup, the oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America, was donated by Frederick Arthur, Lord Stanley of Preston and son of the Earl of Derby, in 1893. Lord Stanley purchased the trophy for 10 guineas ($50 at that time) for presentation to the amateur hockey champions of Canada. Since 1910, when the National Hockey Association took possession of the Stanley Cup, the trophy has been the symbol of professional hockey supremacy. It has been competed for only by NHL teams since 1926 and has been under the exclusive control of the NHL since 1946. _________________

Devils , 4-1 Series. I thought this before the first game, but the devils shut-out with only 16 or something shots from the ducks the entire game reassured me
(besides, the Angels won the world series last year, now the Devils have to win something ) |

A 11 day layoff could easily do that, notice how the passes weren't tape to tape like before. Game 2 will be much different. _________________ Usually my sig goes here, but who the hell needs one anyways. |

I'm thinking that <TVB> wins it in 6. With Hat in goal, Frag and Nips on the wings, Blown at center and me and Sarge as defensemen.
It would be cool if you flipped the puck into the zone and then skated into a waiting SG. _________________

TVB loses, cuz there are no Canadians in that lineup. |

Just to add a little know fact about the Stanley Cup... The Stanley Cup is NOT unique. A replica Cup was made in the late 60's due to replace the original do to the fact that the winning team usually took less than good care of it. The real Cup is on display in the Hockey Hall of Fame, and never leaves the hall. _________________ A change in perception often leads not to how you look at things, but how you understand them. |

Beast is correct. I've been to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. Saw the real cup. They had a net and you tried to shoot the nine targets from about 20 feet away. Needless it took me a pathetic 35 seconds. This kid after me who was about 8 at the time hit all 9 targets in 11 shots. His time was 9.7 seconds. I'll never forget it. _________________ Yes, I'm still around
